The movement started sometime in the early 90's in Hong Kong, with pioneers such as Eric So and Micheal Lau. Grew famous in the underground art scene through Tatsuhiko Akashi and his company Medicom, and following overseas by Kidrobot.

The iconic collabs seem to be an endless dream for collectors all over the world, but never the less, the interest and demand of new, up N'coming and independent artistis are as high as ever.
